The Roofline Opportunity
Every customer getting new windows is a potential roofline customer. Fascias, soffits, guttering, and cladding are a natural complement — and often an easy add-on sale that increases your average order value by 20-30%.
Why Track Roofline Separately
Even though roofline is often sold alongside windows, tracking it as a distinct product category gives you valuable insights:
- Which reps are consistently upselling roofline?
- What's the add-on rate (% of window customers who also buy roofline)?
- Is roofline being offered at every appointment?
- What's the margin contribution from roofline products?
Maximising the Upsell
Make It Part of the Process
If roofline isn't mentioned in every window survey, you're leaving money on the table. Build it into your survey checklist — assess and photograph the existing fascias at every appointment.
Quote It Separately
Show the roofline as a separate line item. This makes it easy for the customer to add or remove it, and gives your reps a clear upsell conversation: "While we're replacing the windows, it makes sense to do the fascias at the same time — you save on scaffolding and disruption."
Track the Metrics
- Offer rate: % of appointments where roofline is presented
- Take-up rate: % of customers who add roofline to their order
- Average roofline value: what's the typical add-on worth?
- Rep performance: who's best at upselling and what can others learn?
